Six water features built by Shaw & Sons
at Koll Center South more than 20 years
ago are still operating perfectly. Key
components such as footing, grade
beams, rebar placement with proper
clearances, proper cement mix designs
with special admixtures, final placement,
consolidation and finish all play an
important role in the longevity of water
feature construction. It’s equally important that subgrade compaction, waterproofing, and mechanical / electrical /
plumbing trades interface to ensure
proper installation.
