President : Ron Shaw Head of Business Operations , Design Assistance and Senior Estimator . With 35 years at Shaw & Sons , from carpenter to carpenter foreman to estimator and project manager , Ron ’ s hands-on experience aids designers and architects in relation to constructability , use of materials and assurance of proper structural design prior to construction . Ron has unsurpassed knowledge of concrete construction which is reflected in his ability to perform complete scope evaluations , eliminating errors and mistakes prior to construction . He delivers design criteria with quantities , design perimeters and scope . Ron earned a degree in construction management , and currently holds over 40 U . S . and foreign patents .
Vice President : John Wills Head of Operations . John has 30 years of experience in the construction industry , 18 of those with Shaw & Sons . John worked for Koll Construction where he oversaw $ 250 million in construction projects . He is gifted in applying his experience and knowledge to prevent many of the typical problems before they occur . John ’ s strength is applied to scheduling , details , layouts , contracts and general trade interface . He strives to push design to its full construction capability . John earned his degree in construction management .
Vice President : Jeff Counterman With a thorough understanding of structural , architectural , and civil designs and structures , Jeff has a keen eye in identifying and correcting potential construction problems well before actual field construction begins . Through the use of AutoCAD and Revit , Jeff is able to develop , draft , and provide precise details , layouts and plans for early design coordination all the way through field construction and as-built documentation . Jeff serves as the interface between the field and office for each project . With over 14 years at Shaw & Sons , Jeff has played a critical part in all our projects .
Vice President of Special Projects :
Marshall Barabasch Sr . Head of Special Project Division , Marshall has over 40 years of themed , stamped and architectural concrete experience . He is highly respected in the industry and has had a hand in a large percentage of the work built at the major Southern California theme parks . He is always pushing the boundaries of decorative concrete and is instrumental in fine-tuning many of our new products .
Controller : Shannon Windsor Manager of Accounting , Human Resources and Office Administration , Shannon has 34 years of finance and human capital development experience in various industries including construction , 13 of those with Shaw & Sons . Shannon is responsible for the integrity and timely issuance of financials and implementing and enforcing accounting and human resources policies and practices consistent with generally accepted principles , legal requirements and company directives . She is certified in Lean Six Sigma and focuses on continuous improvement . Shannon earned her degree in Finance .
General Field Superintendent : Gilbert Gomez Gilbert has worked at Shaw & Sons for over 30 years , beginning as a laborer and now as General Field Su perintendent , he oversees the construction of each Shaw & Sons project . Gilbert supervises the foremen and is responsible for staffing the projects . He ensures that Shaw & Sons ’ expectations for quality are met on every project . He works closely with employees , ven dors , and subcontractors to coordinate proper sched uling and procurement for the project .
General Superintendent , Finishing : Javier Garcia Javier has been with Shaw & Sons for over 30 years . He is responsible for the maintaining the fin ish quality Shaw & Sons ’ is known for on every project . His experience proves invaluable on a daily basis as he is able to foresee possible issues and is able to make quick adjustments for the betterment of the project .
Senior Project Manager / Estimator : Ryan Rood Ryan has over 20 years of experience with Shaw & Sons . He is re sponsible for estimating and managing many of our high profile projects , preparing complete esti mate packages and meeting with clients to finalize bids and clarify scope during contract negotiations . During construction , he is responsible for managing all costs and pricing issues , change orders and any additional pricing exercises requested .
