Craftsmen Specification 9 - Sanded Surface ( Patent Pending ) Uses heavy grit or sanding drum to even out hardscape surface ; can also profile ready-mix sand in order to produce a much more uniform surface .
Sanded Surface complements our other specifications and depending on the grit selected , does different things . Lighter grit evens out the surface and lightly profiles the finished product . This is a nice aesthetic improvement that flattens the surface , offering a distinctive and refined appearance . Heavy grit also profiles but works around the aggregate to remove unwanted ready-mix sand from the top . This gives a homogeneous appearance similar to flamed granite when combined with the 0-90 % Combined Granite .
One La Jolla uses Craftsmen Specification 3 with a greater percentage of granite sand and aggregate . Layout of wall joints , alignment of light standards , building elements , and true flatness of grades and elevations are all incorporated into our Specification in addition to the project specification call out . One La Jolla also used the Sanded Surface Specification 9 and our Presto Wall Finish . To flatten out the hardscape , Craftsmen Specification 20 , Slot Drain was used to collect surface water .
