Tongva Park , named after the indigenous people who lived there , is a new seven-acre park in the City of Santa Monica . James Corner Field Operations ’ design turns a flat dirt lot into a dynamic park with undulating hills , water features and fun play areas . Four main areas : Garden Hill , Discovery Hill , Observation Hill and Gathering Hill , each provides a different experience for children , residents , and visitors .
Shaw & Sons ’ patent-pending walls feature a smooth to heavy texture and are battered in curvilinear design . Hardscape finishes on this project include Lithocrete Presto for larger aggregates and L . Q . S . for smooth granite sand and aggregate finish .
