The $ 115.6-million new research and patient care facility adds to the already state-of-the-art campus . The six-story , 100,000 square-foot building adds to the Jules Stein Eye Institute by providing necessary space to expand into a world class research and treatment facility .
All walls were constructed with M . D . O . plywood and special procedures . The auto drop-off wall required every sheet to be conically formed to create the radial , battered wall face . Type III cement was used and form finished for all the cast-in-place walls .
