IBTU Impact Report 2022 Highlights Important Facets of CDU Community Partnerships
It’ s Bigger Than Us is a 501c3, nonprofit that creates holistic pathways for communities to experience better living through health equity and community activation. The organization does work this alongside community partners such as CDU in creating solutions that increase the quality of life through accessible services for all to thrive.
IBTU has made initial engagement with residents from South Los Angeles through weekly Friday food distribution and Community Friday. Through the support of the CDU Team, IBTU has been able to expand the number of individuals reached by providing more resources at our community activations.
IBTU and a team of CDU collaborators accomplished a deep dive into the South Los Angeles community of service. The impact report, presented here, is designed to demonstrate the scope of what this joint work has produced in 2022.
Between June 2022 and December 2022, IBTU agreed to provide a space at their events for CDU to educate community members on health services and distribute vaccinations, health screenings, COVID-19 test kits, Monkey Pox Vaccines, Fentanyl / Naloxone training, and HIV screenings. Partnership deliverables activated and extended to the following IBTU owned and operated affiliate organizations:
• Weekly resource distributions
• Monthly“ Community Friday” events
• Regional collaborative events such as Taste of Crenshaw
• Key tentpole events such as 2022 Back 2 School, Holiday Giving Season & Winter Wonderland

• 5 / 22 / 22, Taste of Crenshaw: No vaccines given, 15 Health Screenings( B / P, Glucose, Cholesterol Screenings), 60 Covid-19 Test Kits given, and 8 HIV Screenings.
• 6 / 10 / 22, Community Friday: No vaccines given, 5 HIV Screenings, 7 Health Screenings, 28 Covid-19

• 8 / 6 / 22, Back to School: 10 Covid-19 vaccines, 5 HIV Screenings, 120 Covid-19 Test Kits given, 25 Health Screenings. 1
• 0 / 14 / 22, Community Friday: No vaccines given, 36 Covid-19 Test Kits given, 6 HIV Screenings, 22 Health Screenings. 15 Fentanyl / Naloxone training.
• 11 / 18 / 22, Community Friday: No vaccines given, 5 Health Screenings, 5 Fentanyl / Naloxone training.
• 12 / 12 / 22, Winter Wonderland: 5 Covid-19 vaccines, 9 Flu vaccines, 280 Covid-19 Test Kits given, 15 HIV Screenings, 26 Health Screenings, 200 plus people received Fentanyl / Naloxone / Opioid education, and over 200 Naloxone Kits were distributed.
