Project Santa Claus

COVID-19 has put a damper on the festive mood that has marked the Project Santa Claus toy giveaway over the past 29 years. People receiving Christmas gifts were encouraged to drive up to the location where the gift-giving team was stationed in front of the Cobb Building. Those without vehicles who walked in also received toys.

62 families and 160 children received toys at the CDU site. Prior to COVID- 19, over 300 people participated. The Project Santa Claus team will distribute the remainder of the toys through clinical partners that include Kedren Health and the Florence Western Medical Clinic.
“ Next year is the 30th year of the giveaway. We are hoping to return to our carnival atmosphere at that time,” said Dr. Kay Lynn Ceja, COM Director, Service Learning
