Sharpest Scalpel Volume 2, Number 4 | Page 32

We have a story of a woman whose employer told her she needed to be vaccinated. She tried to get an exemption through her faith. The employer did not accept it and immediately fired her on the spot.
We would like to see that employers give a little bit more time. Especially for Black folks, who kind of take our time to make those decisions. But if you’ re requiring people to take vaccinations as part of their employment, have a little bit of flexibility in terms of decision-making time.
Black Women Rally for Action has shared the facts with our community. And whether that means COVID stories, something that we’ ve also produced where we have folks talking about their experiences around COVID, we believe those things are important. Unfortunately, seeing other people being affected negatively by COVID, we feel is something that that has influenced folks to get vaccinated. It’ s information, information, information. Factual information at that. Do not stop.

We’ re closing that gap. Our numbers show an average of 5,200 Black folks being vaccinated every week.
