CDU / UCLA Medical Education Program Welcomes the Class of 2025 with the Annual White Coat Ceremony
The newest members of the CDU / UCLA Medical Education Program were welcomed with our annual White Coat Ceremony on Saturday, August 28, 2021. This year we were able to return to an in-person ceremony, where our incoming 28 students were presented with their first white coat.
The keynote speaker this year was Pamela Simms- Mackey, MD, FAAP, who is currently serving as the Chair of Pediatrics and Chief of Graduate Medical Education for the Alameda Health System, and is an alumna of our CDU / UCLA Medical Education Program, Class of 1994! The student speaker was Ashley Appleton, who is an alumna of Howard University, and is currently serving as co-president of the Class of 2025 Drew Board. into their medical school experience. Family members, partners, friends or mentors of their choice assisted each student with putting on their white coat. Each student also received a welcome letter and gifts from the recently graduated Class of 2021. We are looking forward to seeing the continued accomplishments and success of this class over the next four years!
