Olympic swimming Athlete, Ryan Lochte (Team USA) lied to His mom and consequently to the world thus turning a simple act of indiscretion over the inappropriate use of a gas station’s, toilet facility in a drunken state, into an international, olympic, conundrum. In trying to cover up his indiscretion he lied that he was the victim of an armed robbery at the gas station, where in fact he and friends had urinated outside the premises and tore off a sign. When security officers asked him to pay for the damage at gunpoint he was unhappy to say the least. That little memory gem taught by our mothers comes back to mind. “Speak the truth and speak it ever, Cost it what it will, He who hides the wrong he did, Does the wrong thing still.” Read more: http://www.christianpost.com/news/ryanlochte-dont-lie-to-your-mom-168495/ [email protected]/ PUTIN PUTS Political PRESSURE ON PREACHERS Putin has rolled back the iron curtain, reminiscent of the old communist days in regard to censoring the activity of religious groups in Russia. The new law prohibits the sharing of faith in any place that is not a government-sanctioned house of worship. “This new situation resembles the Soviet Union in 1929. At that time confession of faith was permitted only in church,” Hannu Haukka, president of Great Commission Media Ministries, said in July. “Practically speaking, we are back in the same situation. These anti-terrorist laws are some of the most restrictive laws in postSoviet history.”[1] As the law also bans foreign missionaries from speaking at churches without permission from Russian authorities, international organizations such as the Slavic Centre for Law and Justice, said, “a new manner of carrying out missionary work in Russia will need to be established”.[2] In summary, preaching is banned outside of government sanctioned places of worship; “Individuals fined from $75 $765; Organizations $15,265.”[3] Foreign speakers need gov’t approval to speak, if found in violation deported. The new law claims to be an anti-terrorist measure. Where is the evidence that Christians are terrorists? The growing trend is to lump Christians in with all and sundry is this justice? The statistics pile high with proof of where the real terrorists predominantly hail from. We need to pray for the Church in Russia. Meanwhile, The Slavic Centre For Law and Justice is actively working to protect the rights of Christians. [1-3] Taken From The Christian Post. Article by Stoyan Zaimov.
