The essence of black communication is one of the
most alluring qualities of our culture. We ex-
press ourselves through countless avenues: our
hair, music, film, literature, dance, and even our
relationships with one another. It is such an amazing
feeling to be able to walk into a room where no
one looks like you, except for like one person, and
a simple head nod between the two of you makes
you family. This invisible lifeline is what makes us
special. We even have our own handshakes. Others
attempt to replicate the swag and suaveness of the
gestures, but can they pull it off with the same ease
as us? For example, there has never been a president
with the same persona as Barack Obama!
