The dark and turbulent period following Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel has revealed much about our society: the depth of hatred harbored by Israel’ s enemies … the pervasiveness of antisemitism in our communities and institutions … the fragility of our democracy.
This period has also created a need for each of us, as individuals, to look inward and ask: at this urgent time for the Jewish people, did we remain silent, or did we act?
For American Jewish Committee( AJC), action has always been the only option. That commitment has guided our work for over a century— especially now, as antisemitism surges worldwide and Israel faces unprecedented assault.
