To really dehumanize an individual , keep them fenced off from anything that makes the person who they are . Detach them from friends , family , and any loved ones . By all means prevent them from having the opportunity to give generously to others ; to give a warm , affectionate hug to someone who helped raise them ; and to give a kiss to their wives or girlfriends .
Then , give them the opposite of what they ’ re used to . Put the man in a cage , put him around people who don ’ t care about him , and around authority figures who express their control and dominance by belittling and beating any humanity left in that individual .
When he has been stripped and deprived of everything that personalized him and has been given a new identity that makes him feel less than human , the job has been done . Through repetition he will eventually break . Some break faster than others , but in the end , they all do . Finally , pat yourself on the back because you will have successfully turned a human being into an animal . Sometimes into a monster . Mission complete .

My mind loved to satirize and poke holes in the government ’ s philosophy . With the recidivism rate being so high , it proved the old ways that have been used for thousands of years simply don ’ t work . It boggled my mind that taxpayers paid the government to keep in place such mad logic when they were the victims of it !
We were outside in our human dog kennels , each of us separated from the others by mesh wire fence , in solitary confinement for various reasons . One was in for killing his celly . Another hadn ’ t done anything at all ; he was simply too scared to go to general population . Me ? I stabbed a psychopath murderer for patting me on the ass . Our “ recreation cages ” were only six by twelve feet in space . We were discussing the latest victim of officer brutality in our pod . Most of us laughed about it . It was always better to laugh than cry . Others were angry . The angry ones were fellow gangsters of the individual who was beaten while in shackles and handcuffs .
