n 2010, a revolutionary wave crashed into the Arab regions. Civil uprisings, continuous protests and coup d'etat were happening in several countries as a domino effect. As of today, the governments of Tunisia, Egypt (twice), Libya, and Yemen have been overthrown, with Syria currently undergoing a civil war.

After a month of violent protests which many resulted in bloodshed, the president of Egypt, Mubarak, was removed from office and replaced with a Muslim Brotherhood candidate, Morsi.
