“Maybe not, but they know you… we’ll get the media to help us.
The Chief of Police is a good friend of mine. He’ll help. Don’t
worry. Relax. Just concentrate on getting better. The Doctor
said this could be temporary right, just give it a little time.”
Sara looked at him. He was right. His quiet assurance made her
feel better.
“Thank you! You saved my life. I know it’s not enough.” She
said softly, gratefully.
“…I did what anyone would do. Just don’t worry about
anything except getting better. We’ll figure out the rest
together.” He said.
“Oh please, you don’t have to go out of your way… I” She
began.
“I’m not… like I said, I’m just doing what anyone else would
do. Besides, I could never live with myself if I just left you here
like this on your own in this strange town.” He smiled, and was
comforted when she smiled back.
“Where exactly am I?” She asked.
“Well you’re in Memorial hospital, in a small town called
Sunset Ridge…” He spent a short while telling her about the
little town that was a close-knit community, where everyone
knew everyone else. They all looked out for each other. A quiet
place. Unlike the hustle and bustle of city life, this town moved
