Review: Gel Nail Extensions G el nails are becoming more and more popular and there are so many different things that you can have done to your nails as well. The salon has just recently got gel nail extensions, which I thought never existed. I have only ever had acrylics before, so I was eager to try them out. Before the gel polish is put on, the nails are prepared and given a manicure. It is important to prepare the nails so that they stay in a good condition, and the gel will not affect the nail once it is taken off. The new Artistic Smart Gel includes Vitamin D and Keratin, which is good for the nail and helps it grow as well. As I had gel extensions put on a clear plastic extension is glued to the nail. White ones are put on if you are looking for a french manicure. The extensions are not as thick as Acrylics. I found that they were quite strong, and even though they were long they did not break and were not too uncomfortable either. The good thing about these is that you can have them any length, and they can work on short nails too. 48
