S
tratford Girls’ Grammar School is a place of
empowerment. Though we are incredibly proud
of being a girls’ school, we embrace individuality and
diversity, and we regularly challenge the perceptions
and beliefs of others. Our students don’t need to
live up to anybody’s expectations but their own; we
encourage them to believe in their ability and strive
for more, to believe in themselves and to overcome
any barriers. each student and tutor to engage with different
students at the various stages of their journey
through school. The tutor group is a constant valued
source of guidance and advice based on others’
experiences. A unique feature of our pastoral system
is that cross-year friendships develop very quickly
and continue long after the students have left
school. We and our students see this as proof that
our tutoring system is successful.
At our core is an extensive pastoral care system with
a commitment to student welfare that is second
to none. Good learning stems from happiness and
feeling safe. At SGGS we work hard to ensure that the
right support is in place for those that need it. The
impact of such vigilance is evidenced every day in the
positive, communicative and friendly environment
here. When you arrive at Stratford Girls’ Grammar
School as a visitor, a student or a parent/carer, you
are immediately struck by a sense of familiarity, of
belonging. There is a tangible feeling of community
and a prevalent feeling of being welcome. To join
SGGS, is to join for life, not just simply for the years
your daughter will spend learning here. Stratford upon Avon provides access to a rich
cultural mix, enabling students to connect with and
benefit from many of the creative, musical, literary
and dramatic annual events and celebrations. Our
students are fortunate to have access to premier
companies such as JLR, Tata Motors and The Royal
Shakespeare Company. In addition they have the
opportunity to support local organisations such as
the Shakespeare Hospice, which has helped staff and
students over the years and is a relationship we are
really proud of.
As a student of SGGS, your daughter will join
like-minded peers and aspirational role models,
in a setting that celebrates and encourages an
enthusiasm for all aspects of learning and growth.
Our highly successful vertical tutoring system puts
