The weather in Ireland was different from what we have in Turkey, still it was a great fun to enjoy the weather which Ireland has offered to us.

Our team leaders were great, helpful and always there when we need them.

Although I loved the “whole experience of my journey in Ireland”, I liked our activities with the other groups best. My greatest happiness is to find friends from all over Europe. They were all friendly and very sincere. We really had great time together.

I enjoyed every moment of my visit in Ireland.

Friends!

Sometime, somewhere, I hope to see you all again.

The activities we did were helping us to get to know each other as well. I want to talk about my favorites. We pick a random paper that has a name on it try to kill the person we have. And after killing them, we take the name that person has and this goes as a chain. By killing, I mean kissing. We have to kiss a person to kill. And my second favorite activity is the one we did on the last night. We make two circles one is looking inside and one is looking outside so that everyone can see the person in front of them. Then, lights of and a slow song comes in. You hold the hands of the person in front of you. You’re not allowed to talk in the first 10 seconds. You hold his/her hand and look them until you memorize the face you will never see again. And then you have 10 second you explain what that person means to you. While doing this activity, almost everybody cried. It was sad but at the same time funny somehow. It’s like you have two options: you choose either to cry or to laugh. Sounds awkward I know.

I mentioned my favorite activities but do not think that I did not like the other ones. I loved all the activities we did and I believe that they were meaningful.

The other thing I liked about this exchange that we were treated as adults. Even though the leaders were way older than us, they always asked about our opinions. We wrote our speech about making the world a better place and read it by ourselves again. They never judged us by our responses or behaviors.

And finally, time to criticize the project on the whole. I find this project very useful in so many ways. For example speaking foreign languages, becoming social, criticizing objectively, discussing properly and of course surviving in a place you do not know, full of people you don’t know.

I think this youth exchange has made me a better / more mature person than I used to be. I’ll go for another one next year (hopefully) and I will recommend this to people I know. Thank you for giving me this chance.

Hello, I’m İpek. I’m 16 and joined this project from Ankara. I am going to be talking about the best week of 2018 and the reason why it was the best week of this year (for me at least).

First of all, Back to the Future project was not all about going abroad or doing some activities. This project gave us the opportunity to meet new cultures and also to make foreigner friends.
