Hello, my name is Kağan. I am 19 years old and I am a under gradutate student at Başkent University, Ankara. I will share my experiences in Tarragona, Spain.
First day, I took a flight from Ankara to Barcelona. In the Barcelona Airport, I met with trainers and other volunteers and we talked about the project. Second day, the trainers decided to play a game to introduce us to each other and I met with all my collegues.
The first week was about meeting our collegues and training. During the training, our trainers did some energizers and games so we learned about what non formal learning is about. They also talked about time management, making a good decision and reaching the impossible.
The second week, there was an opening ceremony and we had participated in the ceremony and the 2018 Mediterranean Games officially started. During the games, me and my collegues from Turkey were assigned to the Accreditation Center and we met with Turkish National Delegation. They told us that they needed our help and we became an assistant for our Turkish National Team. We helped our team in transfers, accreditation, translating and also making schedules to go to the playing area.
The third week, we were in the camping and it was good to be in nature and we had a few days to closing ceremony and we partipated in the game area. I participated in tennis, beach voleyball and voleyball and my job was staying in the award ceremony and helping with giving the medals and 2018 Mediterranean Game Mascot to the athletes. On the first of july, the 2018 Mediterranean Games offically ended. In the last part of the ceremony, all of the volunteers walked in the stadium and we enjoyed that moment a lot.
