Nature Play in Parks and Other Spaces
Through the Nature Connection Design working group , we promoted the development of Nature Exploration Areas ( NEAs ) across the City . NEAs provide visitors , especially children , opportunities to connect with nature in playful , unstructured and immersive ways that encourage hands-on exploration , beneficial risk taking , and creative interaction with the natural world .
Developed the NEA Playbook and Design Guide to inspire and inform new projects
Grew the network of NEAs in San Francisco through pop-up and permanent installations
Published the Discover SF ’ s Nature Exploration Areas guide for families
