7. Recommendations
• The legal regulation of sex work in the Republic of Macedonia will
result in a significant improvement in sex workers’ living and working
conditions, reduction in cases of violence by clients, as well as in
increase in security for their future.
• By raising the general population’s awareness, the stigma and
discrimination against this marginalized group could be significantly
decreased.
• The continuation and development of the existing approach in terms
of access to healthcare services which are offered to sex workers by
the civil sector will contribute to an easier access to those services.
• Referral to the services offered by the state healthcare institutions
and the sensitization of healthcare workers will contribute to an
equal treatment of sex workers.
