Beanbag Ottoman
Most of you who visited me at the Craft and Quilt Fair would have seen the lovely large ottoman in the corner, it is filled with beanbag beans and is extremely comfortable to sit on. The fabric for this is a lovely corduroy chevron pattern with a plainer cord on top and denim underneath, for strength. It is quite simple to make (joining the chevron stripes was the tricky part!). It would be great in a rumpus room or for teenagers. Project is under Sew - Home

Owl Cushion
The little linen and pastel Owl proved very popular at the fairs. His pattern is a printable PDF, just go to save PDF and then print it out and you'll have all the pieces you need to make her. If you change the fabric colours you'll get one equally as suitable for a boy. Think about using corduroy too so it's really snuggly in winter. You could use a different fabric on the back to the front if you wish or a furry tummy if you like. Options are endless with little one. It would look cute on a bag too, just use the front of the pattern and sew it on to a tote bag.

Birch Tree
A popular item at the Craft and Quilt Fair was the ornamental Birch Tree. It was made using dowel and fencing wire and was finished off with paper mache. The instructions are on the website under Craft and Celebrate. It took several hours to make and there are several steps. You will need some space for this project and it isn't suitable for children to help with as the wire is quite dangerous for their little eyes. You should also wear safety glasses when working with the wire. It was simple though and it looks amazing. You can use it for parties, you can see it in the background of the photo's in the Princess and the Pea article in this magazine. It is great for Christmas to use as a Christmas Tree. It's also great if you have enough room in a bedroom as a gorgeous display piece. There are so many things you can hang on it, make blossoms for it, hang ornaments on it., change it to suit the change in the seasons. Paint it with glitter, or a colour. It all folds up and can be placed in a long postal tube for storage.

Gluten Free Cakes
If you need to eat gluten free food, you'll absolutely love the Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake recipe. It is so soft and lovely to eat and they are delicious. The recipe includes a gluten free version with an adjustment for those who can eat wheat. They are good either way. Make a double batch and freeze them is my tip, you'll be glad you did!
