Caleb Huang “Look Harder” Reflection. The art itself is self-explanatory, as you can see, the idea is that we need to look harder. The proposal in itself does not help solve the idea of ocean pollution, but it’s the basis of all solutions. It’s not that people don’t care about the ocean, but just that they’re not informed. Many of us don’t realize the gravity of ocean pollution, and that’s because we don’t take the time to look closer. Until we see just how dirty our very own beaches are, we won’t have a strong enough motivation to invest our time and energy into cleaning them. It’s not enough to tell others to do series of steps to help pollution, but if the message is spread, then people will naturally have the desire to help. We need to start by spreading the word around, but words in itself will not get the message through. We can say “ocean pollution is bad”, but the picture won’t get around. What needs to happen is that everyone must see it themselves to really understand what’s going on. Each one of us must make the effort to really get the right idea of ocean pollution.
