Immersion in New Customs Is the Fate of the Wanderer in China

Discussions about China can be endless, much like the country itself. Its history, its customs, and its people speak to a way of life that is particular and exotic, yet very relevant in today’s world. A full account of my travels there could fill an encyclopedia, but I hope to succinctly describe the most fascinating, pertinent, and idiosyncratic parts of my time in China.
Beijing is the “North Capital” of the People’s Republic of China, and is one of the most populated cities in the world. The city is renowned for its colossal architecture and wide avenues, its preserved historic areas like the Hutong, and the alleys which run from east to west in the city, setting an endless maze of grayscale palette houses.
