You Better Belize it!

My family and I recently traveled to Belize. We stayed at a resort named Robert’s Grove which is located in Placencia. The resort was beautiful and our room even had a view of the ocean. There are many activities and tours one can participate in while visiting Belize, such as taking a tour of the Mayan Ruins or the Big Blue Hole, zip lining, kayaking, snorkeling, and so

much more. One activity we did was snorkeling. We chartered a private boat. When my mom, sister and I jumped in the water and started snorkeling we saw so many amazing fish! I even got to see some huge sea urchins. Unfortunately, I ended up getting stung by fire coral, which really hurt. I learned that fire coral is not really coral, but rather an organism that attaches itself to rocks and corals. Fire corals are sharp so they can scrape the skin and they also have little tentacles that sting someone upon contact. While in Belize we also took a tour of the Mayan Ruins and learned about Mayan culture. The sites we visited were Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit. The tour guide was amazing and he taught us so many magnificent things. Visiting Belize was truly a great experience!
