Her work can celebrate the intricacies of the built environment , for example through celebrating the awesome power of gothic architecture or simply by looking in the mirror and developing the expressive potential of the self-portrait . Throughout , her work has been underpinned by an excitement for materials and process . In recent months she has dived deeply into printmaking , making a series of intaglio works that she later extends through finely wrought drawing .
