Disparity in STEM

In 2020 , 3 women were awarded the Nobel prize out of the 8 awarded in scientific fields . This is no doubt a remarkable figure that shows how far we have come in matters of gender equality since Marie Curie was the first woman to become a Nobel laureate in 1903 . Thanks to this progress , we see more women than ever being a part of the core STEM workforce all around the world . However , while the numbers of women in STEM are climbing , it is important to note that STEM as a field itself is expanding rapidly , and we still have a long way to go .
