Why do we get more embarrassed when being watched as teenagers ? Because at this age , social approval is very important .
Take this example for instance . 589 people from 8-59 years old took a test where they rated how risky they think a certain thing is . There was also a poll showing fake information on what others in five different age groups thought . Children followed the example of adults , as did people from 15-59 years old . However , early adolescents based their views around those of other teenagers .
RISK TAKING
Not all teenagers take risks ; some are risk averse . Nevertheless , most teenagers tend to take more risks than children or adults . A little bit of risk taking is important , as you need to expose yourself to new things and experiences , but you shouldn ’ t do it too much as you might put yourself in danger according to Professor Blakemore .
