By harnessing the ability to understand each person ’ s genetic code , doctors may offer patients the best possible p e r s o n a l i s e d , p redictive a n d preventative care . Better diagnosis of disease , early detection of certain diseases , gene therapy and control systems for drugs will result in developing new treatments in molecular medicine that don ' t just treat the symptoms but look at the causes of the problem at hand . Precision medicine is no longer a matter of if ; it ’ s a matter of when .
