In order to address several environmental concerns of large-scale
agriculture including carbon emissions and fertiliser runoff, Felipe
Hernandez Villa-Roel learns from the efficient and compact hexagonal
structure of beehives and tree ramification to build modular planter
system, maximising productivity on limited urban areas.

The aeroponic urban farming can reduce the use of water and need
of food transportation, cutting CO2 emissions.
“This system could also be used in Syrian refugee camps to grow food,
or with the disabled or elderly,” Villa-Roel said. [6]
