Sevenoaks 25: IB Art Exhibition | Page 13

Chester Leung
My time at Sevenoaks has been an unforgettable journey , both as an artist and an individual . In the Art department , I could immerse myself in my passion for creation . It was a space where freedom thrived – where I could experiment , explore and let my ideas take shape without boundaries . The friendships I formed there became a vital part of this process , as I shared moments of inspiration with friends who fuelled my creativity . The laughter , challenges and collective pursuit of expression have all contributed to some of my most cherished memories .
Throughout my work , I have continually sought to capture the complexity of the human form – its beauty , vulnerability and strength . Through sculpture , charcoal and oil paint , I explore how the body holds and expresses deep emotions . These mediums allow me to move beyond the surface , digging into the raw essence of what it means to feel , to experience , to exist . The tactile nature of sculpture offers a direct interaction with form , while charcoal ’ s fluidity and paint ’ s depth give me the ability to convey both the subtle and intense aspects of human experience .
My art is a reflection of the multifaceted nature of being human – the joy , the sorrow , the quiet moments and the intense ones . It is a journey of discovery , constantly evolving and reshaping itself . Every piece is a conversation , an exploration , a way of connecting with the emotions we often cannot speak aloud . At Sevenoaks , I have not only honed my craft but have also found a place where my art and my heart are inseparably interwoven .
