My artistic interest is rooted in a fascination with butterflies . I am drawn to their delicate and vivid wings , constantly changing patterns and effortless movement . This led me to closely study natural shapes and forms , seeking to capture a sense of organic fluidity in my artwork . I experiment with swirls of thick oil paint , washes of watercolour pigments and a rainbow of acrylics to create abstract paintings that suggest natural movement . My digital drawings use intricate lines and hypnotic repeating motifs to evoke transformations . And my body art utilises the human form as an ephemeral , living canvas for designs echoing wings , antennae and compound eyes .
Whether painting canvases , computer screens or skin , I experiment with colours , textures and designs that evoke the dynamism and transformation embodied by the butterflies that first inspired my artistic journey . My multifaceted works are connected by an attempt to impart fleeting natural beauty onto fixed surfaces .
