Sevenoaks 23: IB Art Exhibition | Page 17

Imogen Moran
My exhibition aims to encapsulate both the physical anatomy and psychological interior of an individual . I started by focusing predominantly on the anatomy of the human body , before incorporating the emotional portrayal of an individual , through the expressiveness of movement . I was able to develop this expression of movement into further abstract pieces , where the form is merely suggested through the fluidity of the work . I found that the complexity of the human body demanded a use of mixed media , to allow the different layers to embody both the interior and exterior of the human form . Therefore , I have worked with multiple media , from projected film to spray paint , within individual pieces and across the exhibition as a whole . Additionally , I found that the incorporation of naturalistic elements was in accordance with humanity ’ s animalistic origins , and I focused on developing an organic range of tones . Throughout the process , from my scrawled down original ideas to the final pieces , I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to develop my personal artistic style and hone my skills in multiple media .
