WOLF MOON
It’ s been a week since I learned that there are supernatural creatures living in our world. They are creepy, they scare the hell out of me, but they’ re real. That’ s the only notion that I’ m holding onto to stay alive. I’ ve only met two werewolves in my life; Scott and Derek. Scott is my best friend. So, I guess I can tolerate his supernatural powers. But Derek … I don’ t trust him. I’ m not saying that I would be satisfied if I’ d killed him.( Which is partly true.) But I don’ t like him either.
We were heading to Derek’ s house( if we can call it a house) in the woods. I always remind myself not to make jokes of his past, but I just can’ t help it. All kidding aside, he got over many difficulties. Hunters burned their house and he almost lost all of his family members. Only his older sister and uncle got out of the fire alive. Still, his uncle was in a coma for six years. A huge wound covered the one side of his face. Staying motionless in a bed for six years, probably felt terrible for a werewolf.
On the day that Scott got bitten by an Alpha,( most powerful werewolf) we were actually looking for his older sister’ s body. My dad’ s the sheriff of the Beacon Hills Police Station. That was how we learned Derek’ s older sister was murdered. I thought dead bodies didn’ t scare me at all. But this one was terrifying. Her body was cut in half and half was missing. Therefore, we thought we might find the other half near Derek’ s house.
When we arrived, we took out two flashlights and two shovels( in case the body was buried) from the trunk. We walked through the black polished gate. Derek’ s destroyed house was shining with the moonlight. The ancient oak trees were covering the garden.“ Where are we going to search first?” I asked. Scott didn’ t answer. He stopped and closed his eyes. When he opened, they were glowing in yellow. He was transformed into a werewolf.“ Someone’ s here.” he whispered.“ Another werewolf is here.”
We both turned our back and saw a pair of glowing eyes. They were focused on us.“ Run!” Scott shouted. He ran to the left, I ran to the right. I was running without looking where I was going. I was running so fast. For a moment, I thought my lungs were going to explode. When I felt weak enough, I slowed down my pace, I looked back. Nothing was coming after me. I looked around for a hideout. The best option was sneaking into the house from the back door. I kicked the door and it swung open. If the werewolf didn’ t come after me, then it’ s chasing Scott. He can’ t control his power. He has no chance next to a full werewolf. It’ ll rip his throat out. I had to save him, but what could I do? I’ m just a hyperactive teenager. The floor creaked whenever I took a step. However, I was still trying to walk on my tiptoes? I was afraid the werewolf would hear me.
After a couple of dozen hallways, I finally reached the staircase. When I put my feet on the first step, a hand clutched my shoulder. I turned around so quickly that I fell down on the stairs with such a force. When I tried to get up, I realized that the hand belonged to Scott. I took a deep, relieved breath and found the strength to talk.“ You freaked me dude. Warn me next time when you try to scare me.” I said in a sarcastic way. He didn’ t respond, again. Something wasn’ t normal about him. His skin was more pale than normal. His werewolf eyes weren’ t glowing in yellow— they were red.“ Nice to meet you stiles.” he said.“ I’ ve been looking for you.” He transformed into something else that I’ ve never seen before. He was fast enough to bite me with his sharp teeth. I just felt the pain that covered my body. And then nothing. Just... Nothing.
