SPOOKY-SCARY STORY WRITING
During the Halloween week, we wrote some scary-spooky stories in our CE classes. What we did was to create our own scary stories, draw our own picture, assemble them as a poster, and put them on our lockers. Because this project was for Halloween, everything should be scary. It was a fun activity and for me the best part, which I liked the most, was the drawings of the stories. Because many of my friends drew beautiful drawings about their stories. Also, I like reading scary stories and that’ s why I enjoyed this project that much. Moreover, every time I see our projects on our lockers I am reminded of how much fun I had while I was doing this project.

In the end, our teacher gave us the freedom to write what we feel is a scary-spooky story. I guess what makes things scary-spooky is different for everyone and true writing comes from freedom. My friends and I are looking forward to making another project like this.

GRANDMOTHER’ S HOUSE
Zoe and her family were going to visit her grandmother, Mrs. Ellerby. They woke up early, packed and headed to her grandmother’ s house. It was a four hour long journey. At least, she wasn’ t alone, her older sister Chloe was there too. But Chloe would never play with Zoe, she wouldn’ t even say a word. All she did was look at her phone all day. Their dog Chase was in the car enjoying the trip as well. Zoe was thinking of all the fun things that they could do at grandma’ s. When they arrived it was after noon. Mrs. Ellerby was waiting for them at the door. Zoe ran to hug her and Chase followed. Chloe and their parents came along too. After everyone settled down, they had dinner. Zoe could tell that her grandmother had missed them a lot from how she talked,“ She is very lonely …” Zoe thought. Her grandfather had died in a car accident two years earlier. Since then, Mrs. Ellerby has lived alone. They even once talked with her grandma about moving in with them, but she didn’ t accept it. After dinner they all went to bed, everyone was tired. Zoe slept with Chloe in the guest room, it was very cozy. Chase put his head on Zoe’ s chest and fell asleep with the sound of her heart beat. The next morning, Zoe woke up to a delicious smell. She went downstairs and saw Mrs. Ellerby cooking breakfast.“ Good morning!” she said happily, Zoe smiled.“ Come on everybody, breakfast is ready!” They had breakfast together, then Zoe and Chase went out for a walk in the forest. Chase loved walks, so did Zoe. She loved being in the outdoors and under the trees, hearing the chirping birds. She was daydreaming when she realized that they were lost, she panicked. How were they going to get back home? Zoe tried several ways but she still couldn’ t find a way out of the forest.
