FOOD FAIR
Cookies cookies! Delicious cookies! Would you like to come and buy some of my homemade cookies? How many would you like? That is four Monkey Lira please. This week in our Grade 4 Core English class, we had a Food Fair. For this project we all brought in a different type of homemade food. At our desks we set up our shops and put everything out like a real store. On the front of our desks, we hung posters of what we were selling, the price and why customers should buy it. During the lesson we acted like customers and shopkeepers, and we used fake money to help us act like people at a bazaar. Our teachers walked around the room listening to our English conversations. We needed to use the vocabulary that we learned in the unit and describe our foods with adjectives so our friends would want to buy them. We also needed to use quantifiers like how much, how many, any, some and a lot of. We had to be polite and use good manners. Visitors came to the Food Fair too! The third graders came and bought our food. They really liked it. Our Principle, Secretary and other school staff also came. We had so much fun! It was a good way to practice our English.
