THE AMAZING AIR WALKER
Hi! My name is Lucinda. I am 22 years old. I ' m a tightrope walker. My stage name is The Amazing Air Walker. I was born in a circus-- the same circus that I work in now. I grew up with a tiger, a lion and my friends in the circus. I was home schooled because I lived in an international circus. It was lonely I didn ' t have a lot of normal friends.
My best friends are a lion and a tiger, their names are Marshmallow and Pumpkin. I was inspired by my favorite cartoon character“ Chat Noir” who is a superhero and that wears a black cat costume. I was inspired by him because he had this never-ending stick that keeps growing longer and he always walked on it and it looked really cool.
My mom and my dad are flying trapeze artists. Once they took me on stage with them. When they started they were throwing me to each other. My mom couldn ' t catch me so I kind of flew into the audience. Fortunately, nothing happened to me. Everyone was laughing including me.
I usually practice at the cym. There are no safety nets for tightrope walkers there. I remember the day I first tried to walk on a tightrope when I was 12 years old. I fell on my head! Fortunately, I wasn ' t too high. It took me 3 years or more to finally walk on the tightrope without falling but it ' s still hard. 3 months ago I fell and broke my leg, there wasn ' t a safety net. While I was trying to learn I broke a few bones. When I fell my friends would laugh at me but I didn ' t give up. If I would give up I wouldn ' t be here, on the stage, making people happy. I remember the day that I first walked on a tightrope. I was performing in the show and I got so excited that I fell. Luckily, since it was during the show and the circus tent was set up, I fell into the safety net. If I did it, you can do it! Never give up!
