KINDERGARTEN ENGLISH MASTERPIECES

Kindergarten English continued their second semester in high gear, with playful topics such as jungle animals, learning places around town, and what they want to be when they grow up. Over the course of the time, they acquired English through playful games, songs, and routines that involved individual as well as team work. To showcase their newfound language skills, the kindergarten children put on a full English-language musical play entitled‘ Are You Ready?’, where they played different jungle and forest animal students on a school bus who keep forgetting their school supplies. The show was topped off with a rock-and-roll version of‘ The Wheels on the Bus’ that had audiences applauding.
In their classrooms, the children were also busy with several creative projects connected to the lessons they were learning. Their first project was creating a memory-necklace, which showcased their personal fingerprint and name, which they then sold at Bazaar Day. The students learned how to use clay and paint all the while speaking( and even singing!) in English.
Their second project was the Socktopus, which was connected to their animals lessons. Here, the students created their own octopus out of socks and several other pieces. These were then used by students to sing along to songs and prepare for display on Portfolio Day. Another project students worked on were family photo frames, where they put wooden stick frames together, painting and decorating them, while placing a family photo that they had to identify using family vocabulary.
The final project was a clown puppet, which was created in their English full classes. Here, students colored, cut out, and laminated clowns which they then shared in their classrooms. While creating their clowns, the students learned songs about the different parts of the body, colors, and the actions of clowns.
Overall, the students really enjoyed learning through project making, and were able to create multiple art projects that they will carry with them for years.
