Position 5, the RARE airmail variety as only 20 stamps were
so overprinted. Overprinted for the first experimental flight
from Barranquilla to Puerto Colombia. Tied to piece by June
18, 1919 Barranquilla first day cancel. On cert, Holcombe
declares this stamp as ‘A rare variety’. Genuine, signed three
times. Fine to very fine. (1991 Holcombe Cert #6217/91). Scott
catalog for faulty stamps. Cat $4250.

gum, previously hinged. Cat $1350.

The Compania Colombiana De Navegacion Aerea multicolors of 1920 are among the rarest and most desirable airmails in the
world. To complete the set is a major philatelic achievement. The numbers listed in each lot of C2-C10 represent the latest census
information of known genuine examples. Needless to say, the number of sound examples of each is less, far less in some cases.
