Very fine example of this scarce die type. Vertical printed
‘Return to...’ message at left, along with small stain lower left,
otherwise fresh, with never sealed flap. Cut square alone catalogs
for $350. From long buried Ezra D. Cole stock. Cat $475.

Four covers with bisects, probably done by an eager philatelist.
Three covers marked ‘PRINTED MATTER’ with stamps paying
1½¢ rate, one cover with 3¢ Washington violet canceled
Baltimore, MD 1925 addressed, and two unaddressed covers
with #614 1¢ stamp from Huguenot-Walloon issue (single &
bisect) with Baltimore MD 1925 cancels. Fourth cover has right
half of C15 $2.60 Zeppelin stamp tied to picture postcard,
mailed in Albany, NY to Baltimore on Aug 27, 1930 & sent
airmail. Interesting group.

additional bilingual text about flight and airplane, maps and
“Justice for Hungary” on front of card. Franked with 5¢
Norse-American, tied by 5/14/31 Flint, MI machine cancel; proper
green flight cachet and two different Budapest receivers. Attractive,
busy and scarce card, very fine. (AAMC #1144 $140)

ad collar design at upper right, with company address and
reminder of reduced printed matter postal rate (2 ounces per 1
cent). Proper 1¢ First Bureau affixed at center and tied by
dateless 1899 New York City flag machine cancel. Stafford,
CT receiver on back. Several repaired tears, mostly on back,
do not affect designs. Fine and quite scarce.
