Attractive small patriotic cover with scarce horizontal strip of
3 paying rate. Stamps tied by Sep 30 Greenville, RI, cancel.
Cert notes ‘right stamp with tiny surface scrape at bottom right
and all stamps with a light horizontal crease.’ Also small toning
spot at left, usual opening tear on reverse. Scott values used
strip of 3 ($2,100), and single Patriotic stamp usage is ($1,400).
Scarce use. (1993 PF Cert #0275542).

sound, slightly overlapping singles, tied with two strikes of
Camden town cancel. Fine stamps with deep, rich color,
positions 66R4 (#21), 60R4 (#22), 70R4 (#21). Stamps alone
catalog $5,500 off cover. (2011 PF Cert #496463).

Attractive folded letter from New York City to Pontiac, Mich.,
with 3½ margin stamp (just in at upper left) tied by bright red
grid postmark. Stamp has very wide margin at right, in which
multiple parallel plate scratches can be seen -- the most of this
variety we’ve seen. Scarce use of easily plated variety. Fine.
