A FAULT FREE example of this VERY RARE stamp, of which
fewer than 100 are known to exist and only a handful of those
are sound. Position 7R1E. The type shows beautifully in the
large top margin, PSE graded fine to very fine, while Scott
catalog value is for fine. Beautiful bright Plate 1 Early color,
nice strike of Mobile, Ala., circular date stamp. As Type I
(position 7R1E), Scott #5 is a unique type. It is the only one of
1,000 different positions used to print this issue that shows a
COMPLETE design. This example is not only sound, but
features fresh paper, sharp impression and all around gorgeous
