Industry

The underground is where it starts for every rap artist/dj, you start by building your empire

which is what Dj Prince has been doing for years. Dj Prince continues to stay underground,

providing a platform for artist so that they may have a chance and fair opportunity to showcase

their talents. The difference between the artist now and back in the 90's, is the drive, the ambition

to prosper no matter what. They had more opportunity to get seen or heard. Now you have to run

around in wigs wearing nothing but a thong or making statements like “all I want for my

birthday is a big booty hoe”. Not only has the artistry changed but the Deejaying has as well.

Back in the day Deejaying was about taking the albums everybody rocked to and making it your

own, using the vinyl records and the turn tables and just going at it until the party is over, now

you have technology that is shifting into the new age with the iPod and iPad the essence of the

sound and the flow is disappearing. How do we get it back. As a whole we need to start

promoting positive lyrics and positive music to the next generation. Being an underground Dj

you break a lot of records first and being that he is a Dj from the 80's he respects the art of

Deejaying, breaking records so the underground gets more exposure. Underground is who he is

not what he does.
