Welcome to the first issue of Service Worth A Glance brought to you by the Circle K International Service Committee! The purpose of the newsletter is to encourage the sharing of ideas, projects, and videos amongst the entire membership and thus foster service in communities around the world. We really want everyone to feel appreciated for the work that they do and are happy to showcase them throughout our newsletter.
The CKI Service Committee is comprised of a group of dedicated individuals working hard to ensure that all members of CKI are able to participate in some form of service throughout our wonderful organization. We have five service ambassadors on our committee which are each assigned to a specific CKI Preferred Charity or Service Partner. A preferred charity (PC) is an organization that partners with either Kiwanis International or Circle K International and pays a fee in order to receive official promotional and fundraising privileges from our organization. A service partner (SP), on the other hand, is typically an organization that the Circle K International Service Committee works with in order to promote and fundraise for as they are ideal for our membership to work with. Currently, our preferred charities are UNICEF (The Eliminate Project and The Six Cents Initiative) and March of Dimes, and our service partners are Better World Books and Students Team Up to Fight Hunger (STUFH). We are also honoured to have the Large Scale Service Project Chair as a member of our committee as a way to truly promote service on an international scale.
We hope you all enjoy our newsletter and that you learn something new. Be sure to stay tuned for our next issue and we look forward to hearing from you!
