Our Core Values
We value the
Word of God
We Value
People
We value
teamwork
We value
excellence
A new year always symbolizes a new beginning. Many
people enter into a new year with all types of hopes and
aspirations for a better life. People make New Year’s resolutions and try to “turn over a new leaf.”
Unfortunately, however, the momentum generated by
hanging a new calendar often isn’t maintained very long.
Many of us find ourselves
saying along with Paul,
“For I know that in me
(that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to
will is present with me, but
how to perform what is
good
I
do
not
find”
(Romans
7:18
NKJV). All too often people find themselves in an
annual cycle of high hopes
and higher disappointments.
So have you stuck to your
New Year’s resolutions? If you haven’t, don’t fret. The
year is still young. There’s still plenty of time to turn
things around and make 2014 a great year.
Volume 1, Issue 1
Exodus 14:15 tells us, “And the LORD said to
Moses, ‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children
of Israel to go forward.’” You must go forward
to make the most of this year. Looking back to
the disappointments of the beginning of the year
won’t motivate you to excel the rest of the year.
Next you need to make sure that those New
Year’s resolutions you set were appropriate
in the first place. Make sure your goals are
S.M.A.R.T.—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Time-framed.
Finally be sure to ask God for His grace to
help you to stick with your resolutions. “Let
us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help
in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV). God
said to Paul, “…My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness…” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV). God’s
grace is more than enough to help us to get on
track and stay on track as we set out on our various journeys toward self-improvement.
Don’t feel badly if you haven’t stuck with your
goals. It’s not too late. Start today to make this
year the best year of your life so far!
First remember Paul’s words in Philippians 3:12-14
(NKJV):
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected;
but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ
Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count
myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind and reaching forward to
those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for
the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
If 2014 hasn’t been what you’ve wanted it to be so far, the
first thing you need to do is to put the past behind you.
Although the first few months of 2014 are the very recent
past, it’s still the past nonetheless, and it needs to be forgotten in order to maximize the rest of the year.
