staff formed its own team, and local LCMS association churches and schools were encouraged to join in as a way to help motivate their own workers to improve their well-being. Many of the 14 area congregations were represented. To tie in the event to “Be Well … Serve Well,” Roeske encouraged her staff to record their steps during the training months leading up to the event. She also showed faculty and staff how to submit their race results to Vitality so they could earn points for participating. The event will continue in the future, with the goal of boosting the number of participants and bringing even more people on campus. Organizers also want to strengthen outreach to the local LCMS grade schools to help their staffs understand how to use Vitality in their own wellness programs. The organizers plan to be more purposeful with announcements and ads to improve community involvement.
