Furthermore, we need to understand how to use rod angles to throw fish off balance and guide them in the direction you want them to go. When a fish moves in one direction, drop your rod in the opposite direction and keep it low to the water. The low rod angle and strength from engaging the butt section will pull the fish off balance and force it towards the direction you are pulling it. By constantly doing this the fish will tire quicker as it will constantly be off balance and disorientated, making it less efficient at fighting the resistance of the rod and line.
