Fishing on the edge of uncertainty

Seeing pictures of a war torn desert, with miles and miles of dusty hot nothing around you gives you unexplained peace and tranquility. I would never have dreamt of finding myself standing on the edge of the Nubian dessert casting a fly into the tropical turquois ocean.

The Nubian Desert is in the eastern region of the Sahara Desert, spanning approximately 400,000 kmĀ² from north-eastern Sudan and northern Eritrea, bordered by the Nile and the Red Sea. The arid region is rugged and rocky and contains some dunes.

The Nubian desert was named after the Nubians, an ethnolinguistic group indigenous to Sudan and southern Egypt. They date back to one of the earliest forms of mankind recorded. The contrast of rich and poor is quite vivid as Sudan is rated under the top 5 hungriest countries of the world.

Now that the history lesson is out of the way fun fishing starts!
