The colourful Peruvians are friendly, content and I did not see beggars or anybody smoking! Spanish is mostly spoken, and it will help if you have some vocabulary. The weather in Cusco is mild and the average summer and winter day temperatures varies with only a few degrees.
The fishing trip in Peru certainly was a “high”, I would however not regard Cusco as a primary fishing destination, but it should be considered as a bucket list destination if combined with all the other historic sites and the possibility of extending your trip onto the Amazon for some Peacockbass!
