As always a trip to Rhodes is special, this was not the most productive but certainly as enjoyable as any I have done before. We did 80% self- catering each of us brought 1 supper, rusks & cereal for breakfast a cheese & salami roll to take on the water and a few beers, then whilst in Rhodes had suppers at Dave’s Walkabouts Inn – pizzas are great.

It is definitely worth a visit, but remember that the streams are small so it’s best to only fish 2 anglers per beat and probably not a good idea to do it alone, there are plenty of beats so booking adjacent beats it’s the way to go.

Book your trip now – Autumn & Spring are the best times, here are the contacts:

After much deliberation to fish the Bell or Riflespuit we settled on Riflespruit as Boardmans is no-longer available to WTA.

Into our pairs for the final session Leslie & I tackled Thirlstone and Shane and Butch took on Mt Mourn beat.

I really enjoy these mid sections of the Riflespruit the waters like the rest of the week were sparkling clear and running nicely, but fishing was also difficult and were only rewarded by hard work. Looking for good lies and good presentations did the trick, the day out on the stream was fantastic rewards few,Leslie got a good-sized rainbow and between us a few 10 inchers came to the net.

Shane and Butch seemed to have it a bit tougher at Mt Mourn not much to be seen and a few taken by Shane
